A TNB meter records the electricity consumption of a house or premises. If its display is blank, physically damaged or showing an unusual condition, the customer should report the issue to Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) for inspection.
A main switch is an electrical switching device used to turn on, turn off and isolate the electrical supply for an entire installation.
It is normally located near the beginning of the electrical distribution system before the supply continues to protective devices and final circuits.
MCB ratings such as 6A, 10A, 16A, 20A, 32A and 40A indicate the nominal current rating of a Miniature Circuit Breaker.
These numbers are not simply a measure of MCB size or “strength”. The MCB rating needs to suit the circuit design, cable capacity, type of load and overall protection arrangement.
An SPD, or Surge Protection Device, is an electrical protection device used to help protect electrical systems and equipment from temporary overvoltage or voltage surges.
Surges can occur due to lightning, disturbances in the power supply network or sudden switching events within an electrical system. Although a surge usually lasts for a very short time, the high voltage can affect electronic equipment and electrical installations.
