Is an electrical socket not working even though other parts of your home still have power?
The problem may affect one socket, several sockets in the same room or an entire socket circuit. Possible causes include a faulty socket, a loose connection, damaged wiring or a circuit breaker that has tripped.
A DB box that feels unusually hot should not be ignored, especially when the heat is new, becoming more noticeable or accompanied by a burning smell and discolouration. The heat may involve an MCB, RCCB, main switch or an electrical connection inside the distribution board.
An EV charger that keeps tripping may indicate a problem involving the electrical load, protective device, wiring or the charger itself. The trip may happen as soon as charging begins or only after the vehicle has been charging for a certain period.
An aircond MCB that keeps tripping may indicate an excessive electrical load, a circuit problem or a fault involving the air conditioner. The trip may happen immediately when the aircond is switched on or only after the unit has been operating for several minutes.
